Committee of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences was established in 1972. Objectives of the activity of the committee are related to integration of the scientists working in the field of biocybernetics and biomedical engineering in Poland and coordination of initiatives leading to advanced research in this field.
Members of the committee are experts in the field of biocebernetics and biomedical engineering. They represent research organisations as well as companies involved in manufacturing of biomedical equipment. They are elected for years terms. Chairmen of the Committee were: prof. Maciej Nałęcz (1972-2007), prof. Andrzej Weryński (2007-2011), prof. Roman Maniewski (2011-2020) and presently prof. Adam Liebert.

We kindly remind about the ongoing registration process regarding the elections to scientific committees of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which are held using the electronic electoral system of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
According to the schedule, registration of people entitled to vote will end on October 6 this year. Registration requires logging in to the system at https://esw.pan.pl/Account/Login and following the instructions available at https://pan.pl/regulamin-2.
We would like to stress out that following the "Regulations on the procedure for selecting members and bodies of scientific committees", a necessary condition for conducting an election to a scientific committee is that at least 60 independent scientific workers declare their willingness to use the passive suffrage. Declaring the passive suffrage for a given committee means a consent to stand as a candidate and the will to actively participate in the work of the committee if elected as a committee member.
