Joint Nordic-Baltic and Polish Conference on Biomedical Engineering

The Joint 20th Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics & 24th Polish Conference on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (NBC 2025 & PCBBE 2025) was held on 16–18 June 2025.
The three-day programme included 14 oral sessions, 12 special sessions and two Rapid Fire Poster Presentation sessions. The scientific programme was further enriched by four plenary lectures delivered by Prof. David A. Boas (USA), Prof. Zhi-Pei Liang (USA), Dr Bassil Akra (Germany) and Prof. Lauri Parkkonen (Finland).
The conference also featured the international IFMBE Scientific Challenge and a panel discussion entitled Women in Biomedical Engineering.
A special anniversary session was organised to mark the 50th anniversary of the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBIB PAN).
The event brought together 216 participants from 30 countries. The conference provided an excellent environment for scientific exchange, networking and the development of new collaborations across the biomedical engineering and medical physics communities. Participants highly appreciated both the scientific quality of the programme and the organisation of the event.
Selected high-quality contributions submitted as full papers were published in IFMBE Proceedings No. 131: The Joint 20th Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics & 24th Polish Conference on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering (NBC 2025 & PCBBE 2025) by Springer.
