The fourth Committee meeting of the 2024–2027 term

On 21 November 2025, the fourth meeting of the Committee for the 2024–2027 term was held at the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics of AGH University of Krakow.
The Committee members visited the laboratories and learned about the biomedical engineering research conducted at the Faculty. They also attended a lecture by Prof. Urszula Stachewicz entitled Electrospun Polymer Fibres for Applications in the Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis and Tissue Engineering.
The formal part of the meeting began with the presentation of appointments to the new members of the Committee. This was followed by a discussion of the NBC & PCBBE conference and the events held under the Committee’s patronage in 2025, as well as a summary of the activities of the Committee’s Commissions in 2025.
The Committee members unanimously adopted a resolution supporting efforts to organise the EMBC conference in Katowice in 2028, as well as a resolution on resubmitting a proposal to the National Science Centre (NCN) to establish a panel entitled “Biomedical Engineering and Related Interdisciplinary Sciences”.
The meeting concluded with a summary of the work on the latest volume of the Biopomiary monograph series and information on the nomination of Prof. Augustyniak to represent the Committee in the High-Level Expert Group (HLEG) established at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, an advisory group on AI strategy and digital technologies.
