The Committee Issues Its Opinion on the Proposed Changes to the Rules for Evaluating Scientific Activity

On 24 September 2026, the Committee of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences unanimously adopted a resolution concerning the draft regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the evaluation of scientific activity.
The Committee emphasises the need to ensure the stability and predictability of the evaluation system and to provide scientific institutions with sufficient time to adapt to new rules. In particular, it calls for reconsideration of the introduction of extensive changes during an ongoing evaluation cycle and presents detailed proposals concerning, among other issues, the evaluation of international projects, impact case studies, institutional research potential, the weighting of evaluation criteria, the method used to determine the N value, and the dissemination of research results.
