Committee of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences was established in 1972. Objectives of the activity of the committee are related to integration of the scientists working in the field of biocybernetics and biomedical engineering in Poland and coordination of initiatives leading to advanced research in this field.
Members of the committee are experts in the field of biocebernetics and biomedical engineering. They represent research organisations as well as companies involved in manufacturing of biomedical equipment. They are elected for years terms. Chairmen of the Committee were: prof. Maciej Nałęcz (1972-2007), prof. Andrzej Weryński (2007-2011), prof. Roman Maniewski (2011-2020) and presently prof. Adam Liebert.

Please join the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society International Student Conference organised in cooperation between students from Silesian University of Technology and AGH University of Science and Technology.
Topics of the conference cover telemedicine, medical images processing, bioinformatics, biomechanics and bionics.
The conference will be held online on 11-12 December 2020.

The meeting was held online. Six new Committee members were elected (the Committee members). A following panels were formed:
- Fundamental Research Panel (in charge of prof. Dorota Pijanowska)
- Panel of Applied Research and Implementations (in charge of prof. Piotr Augustyniak)
- Education Panel (in charge of prof. Zbigniew Paszenda).
The Committee appointed two teams assigned to: organize the EMBS conference (in charge of prof. Ewaryst Tkacz) and work on the Biomedical Engineering Monography.
The Committee has adopted its internal regulations and discussed on activities and challenges for the upcoming term.

From 18th to 19th June ICM was oganized the Seminar: „Quantitative diffuse optical methods for neuromonitoring”. This meeting was held by Prof. Keith St.Lawrence (Canada) and Prof. Adam Liebert (Poland).
Among invited speakers was invited: Arjun Yodh (University of Pennsylvania), Emanuela Keller (University Hospital Zurich), Sergio Fantini (Tufts University), Davide Contini (POLIMI), Hamid Dehghani (The University of Birmingham), Ilias Tachtsidis (UCL), Turgut Durduran (ICFO).
